Program Overview

About Our In-Town Referee Program

Our In-Town Referee Program is the ideal starting point for new and beginning referees in Grades 7-8. This is where players learn the basics of refereeing, build confidence, and gain experience officiating youth soccer games in wWellesley.

Referees in Grades 7-8 officiate 2nd- and 3rd- grade games on Saturday mornings at Sprague Fields. Two referees are assigned to each game, with assignments and pay based on grade level:

  • Grade 7 → Referee 2nd grade games ($20/game)
  • Grade 8 → Referee 3rd grade games ($25/game)

Referees can earn an additional $10 if the second assigned referee does not arrive for the game.

This program is open to all WUSC players in Grades 7-8. No experience or certification is required.
